Taste of Salt Anticipation Guide

  1. Politics and political problems are a subject for adults to deal with.
    • I disagree because everyone has their freedom of speech, meaning they have the right to say what they want. This is also called Human Rights. So, politics and political problems aren’t only for adults, kids and teens also have the right to state their opinion. Even though it may not be the right thing to do, at least everyone is equal.

  1. All scenarios can have a happy ending if those involved work towards it.
    • I agree and disagree. I agree because if someone is born into a nice family, but then something bad happens to his/her family, then that person can work towards making his/her life better. I disagree because if you are born and raised into a bad family, then there’s really nothing you can do to overcome that situation. Also, there are certain situations in which there is nothing you can do to make it better.

  1. Literacy (knowing how to read or write) is a form of freedom.
    • I agree and disagree. I agree because when someone knows how to read or write, that opens a door to many things. For example, they can express themselves, and they can learn about things. I disagree because sometimes when a person knows too much, they can get in trouble because if someone expresses himself or herself and offends somebody else, then that might not be a good thing.

  1. Civilizations without a written language cannot effectively document hist
    • I agree because without a written language, we wouldn’t have been able to learn about all those ancient civilizations. For example, if ancient Mesopotamia didn’t have a written language to document things, then we would never have learned about those civilizations, no one would have known about it, and people would have made things up about the past. But since Mesopotamia did, we know about what happened then, and that helped us to understand our own civilization.

Be a Social!

If you want to be part of a good-natured group, join ours…The Socials. Trust me, we are so much better than those stinky, greasy haired greasers. We actually have parents who care! We also have money for shelter, food, and a good education, something that Greasers will never be able to get. Plus, we don’t commit crimes, and hey…we have nice things.

Greasers are mean hoodlums who have nothing better to do than steal and beat people up for no reason, (they steal from stores, and they are known for having a bad reputation) and they also don’t know how to behave. We are so much more mannered than them, and we don’t need to steal things, because we actually have the money! If you join our group, you will have enough money to buy whatever you want, and you’ll never have to commit a crime by stealing. Doesn’t that sound so much more appealing?

Us Socials have parents who want the best for us. They want us to succeed in life and have the best education we can. Most of the Greasers don’t have parents! But, if they did, they’re always drunk, they smoke the whole day, and some even take drugs. They’re parent also don’t care about their children. They don’t even try to provide for them. Would you want to live with people like that? I don’t think so. Our parent would provide for us as much as they could. With the money we have, we can buy food, have shelter, and an extremely good education. That sounds so much better than having none of that.

Since we have money, its normal for us to have things that please us, including houses that spacious. Imagine having everything you ever wanted…that red care with the stereo, that charm bracelet made of 24 karat gold, that 1959 Victorian house with the golden railings…etc. well, if you join our group…that’s what you’ll get. Those poor, good-for-nothing Greasers live in shacks that can barely hold themselves up. They live in the same shirt and jeans the entire year, and to add to that they rarely take showers (which explains why they stick tons of grease in their hair). So, to add to that…THEY’RE DIRTY, and THEY SMELL! Wouldn’t want to be next to that all day, would you? Us Socials also have nice houses, cars, and clothes. If you come hang out with us, you can have that too.

What do you think, aren’t we better? Believe me, if they wrote you this letter, you wouldn’t understand what they’re saying because of their bad grammar. So, after reading this, your choice, hopefully, is to join our group and have the best time of your life. Don’t ruin your life by joining their group, seriously, don’t.

See you soon!

Rhythm of Life

Paramore is an alternative rock band from America. The band consists 5 people. The lead singer is a girl. Two members of the band are brothers (the drummer and the lead guitarist). They rose to fame in the year of 2004.

The members of the band are…Hayley Williams ( lead singer), Zac Farro (Drums), Josh Farro (Lead Guitar), Jeremy Davis (Bass), and Taylor York ( Rhythmic Guitar).

In 2002, when Hayley William was only 13 years old, she moved from her hometown of Mississippi, to Franklin, Tennessee. She attended a private school, and met Zac and Josh Farro, the 2 brothers soon to be part of her band. However, at that time, Hayley was in another punk band with bassist Jeremy Davis, so, brother Zac and Josh Farro decided to from a band, wanting and needing Hayley Williams as their lead singer.

Paramore’s first album came out in 2005, and it was called All We Know Is Falling. During the making of this album, bassist Jeremy Davis left the band. Hayley decided to create the album artwork by herself, so she made it look like in the picture there was no one there, only a shadow walking away, Jeremy as the shadow. Jeremy Davis soon returned to Paramore after the band had asked him to. All We Know Is Falling made #30 on the Billboards Chart. In 2008, RIOT! was released, and entered the Billboard 200 at #20. The band was nominated as Best New Artist at the 50th Annual Grammy Awards. Paramore also released a single called “Decode” for the novel-based movie, Twilight. Their most recent album came out in early 2009, called Brand New Eyes. Paramore won many awards at the Grammy’s, the MTV Music Awards, and the Teen Choice Awards. Paramore, by far, is my favorite band.

My favorite Paramore song is “Decode”. It’s a song that was written for the novel-based move, Twilight. The video clip for this song takes place in the forest where Bella finds out that Edward is a vampire. In the video clip, the band is playing in the forest, while clips from the movie are also popping up. The lyrics of the song also talk about vampires and love. I also like the song because of the beat and melody.

New Type of Baby!

If you’re a parent reading this article, you probably already know how babies can be somewhat nerve wrecking, right? Well, now, babies can be genetically made to have their own control panel. These babies are now created with 2 main switches. One of them, located on their forehead, had 4 options. The 4 options are: Self clean, Cute, Sleep mode, and Fetch. Now, when your baby is annoying you, just flip the switch to any of these options, and Viola! The other switch is located right on the mouth, with 2 options, On and Off. So, whenever you feel like having peace and quiet, you would flip the switch to OFF. It’s very simple.

Parents who already have one of these babies, have been in a better mood ever since.

Tell Tale Heart picture

"You should have seen how wisely I proceeded -- with what caution -- with what foresight, with what dissimulation, I went to work! I was never kinder to the old man than during the whole week before I killed him. And every night about midnight I turned the latch of his door and opened it oh, so gently! And then, when I had made an opening sufficient for my head, I put in a dark lantern all closed, closed so that no light shone out, and then I thrust in my head."
